The ring tones & sounds stop periodically & do not return until I re-boot. The vibration feature on each profile continues to work though - what gives

The Q key is a shortcut to toggle between the active profile and the vibrate only profile. Is it possible you are unintentionally switching the profile to vibrate with that toggle?

There is a known issue with AT&T BB9900 ring tones being unassociated with any profile and requiring a reboot. I am working with BB 2nd level support on this issue. They currently suspect it is being caused by a 3rd party APP in conjunction with the AT&T OS. Would you please detail all currently loaded APP on your BB9900. I am currently doing a selective restore in an attempt to isolate the possible conflicted APP.

Okay, it appears we have identified the issue. The problem appears to be caused by the Facebook app and it appears isolated to AT&T users. Upon removing the FB app the ringtones were not lost thereafter. Please share any information that may help support this or challenge this current assessment.

well this issue happens with me too and a soft reboot helps...

dont necessarily have to do a battery pull.. the phone goes completely mute all of a sudden.. even during a call

but 3rd party apps... nah

firstly i never used face book

the only optionl apps in my phone are

bb app world, google talk (RIM), yahoo messenger (RIM) and nothing else

BBM of course

no other third party apps

and yes no face book

beeng using blackberry for years only for pushed mail and chatting on yahoo, google and BBM

dont need any other...

but still the phone goes mute

missing too many calls.. also during a call it goes off and need to reboot
and miss on urgent conversations
