Default 1 Computer - 2 Blackberries, 2 different desktop managers?

Please Login to Remove!

Ok...here's the deal! My laptop crashed. Out of work and can't afford to get it fixed at this time. Therefore, we now only have my son's computer. He as a Curve with 4.5 software and I have an 8820 with vs 4.2 software. According to T-Mobile's website each of these phones should use a different desktop manager. Is it possible to install two different versions of the Blackberry Destop Manager on the same computer?

I appreciate your help!

What you should do is create separate user accounts on the computer, assuming you're running Windows.

AFAIK, you don't need a different DM. I have 4.2 on my laptop, 4.6 on another and 4.7 on the 2 desktops that I hook up.

What exactly are you trying to do - add music and ringtones? Sync contacts and calendar?

I am trying to add eOffice to my 8820. But, I need to do that through my desktop software and I wasn't sure if I could use my son's desktop software (he doesn't have internet on his phone) or if I needed to download the version for my phone. Since I have T-Mobile, I haven't upgraded to v4.5 as I am too scared to use a version that didn't come from them!

No reason to be scared. I'm fairly certain I haven't run a Verizon os on my vzw curve since I've had it.

Desktop Manager isn't model-specific. There's no such thing as "DM for the 8820". DM is DM. You're good to go. Now, to use the App Loader you will need to download and install your handheld OS but that's entirely separate from DM.

I also recommend using different Windows logins. You can set up separate profiles in Outlook but it's very easy to get things accidentally crossed IMO.
