Default Why is stuff so laged compared to Itouch/phone

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all I am on verzion and thinking of upgrading to a smart phone from my chocolate 2.0

The only phone that looked appealing was the Storm.

However I was not impressed with its UI or response time.

Compared to my itouch everything felt delayed which, while not the end of the world, did feel a bit intrusive.

Do you guys recommend this phone? Is it pretty decent? Durable? Good battery life? Has it gotten firmware updates to fix its sluggishness from what might be on display at the verizon store? I honestly can't figure out how apple can make something so amazing while everyone elses feels delayed. Especially when this phone is twice the size or more of my Itouch. I am not switching from verizon so this is pretty much my only option as far as I know

If anyone has any other options I might want to look at I am all ears. I would prefer the tactile keyboard but I have rather large hands and they don't work very well for me. So touchscreen, as bad as they are(yes even the iphones touchscreen is not great imo) are the way to go for me usually.

Apple made a deal with the devil to get the best touch screen technology around. But when they die they have to come back as anal beads. It was a life choice, personally I wouldn't have risked it but to each is own.

Not sure. There are rumors. But its been since June till they had a new phone. So I would imagine around November or so you should expect it. There are still rumors that Verizon might be the Iphone too. Not sure how true that is.

You'll have 30 days to return it if you don't like, no questions asked.

I've been using the Storm since last December. Slower yes, but you can't beat the great screen.

You can beat or you can't beat? Or are you saying it takes a beating? lol

Im sure itll work fine. I am just kinda affraid it is a bit bulky and I might get abit irritated moving from an itouch to the storm touchscreen wise

But we can get 2 for 49.99 so I think we are gonna go for it since my sis needs a new phone herself.

BTW how is the actual talk quality and speak phone of this phone? I guess since that is its main purpose I should be asking about that right lol.

I know my chocolate 2.0 has kinda been a burden. Although it sure looks nice=p

I meant "can't beat the great screen." Thanks for catching that.

I haven't seen any complaints about the audio/phone quality.

I have had my Storm for about 2 weeks now, and I don't find it bulky, but I didn't have an itouch. I think my Curve was slimmer and thinner than Storm.

Talk quality and speakerphone work very well, IMO.

You may like it once you get used to it. As for waiting for Storm 2, you can either wait for the new model and pay more, or try the Storm 1 for $49.

I have both the Ipod Touch and a Storm.
I can type much faster on the Storm than on the Ipod.
Phone quality is better than my Curve.
As far as "lag", this is much better with the latest OS versions.
As was said earlier, you just need to try out the various devices and see what works best.

I personally was not a fan, I used the Storm for about a week. I could not work without a physical keyboard. I do agree the screen is great, especially for watching videos and web browsing. I have noticed that the people who have never had a Blackberry before enjoy the Storm more than people who are long term Blackberry users.

I used the iPhone for about 18 months solid and I find typing on the iPhone to be easier.

My personal opinion.....buy the Tour

Make sure you're running OS 4.7.0.151, that's a blazing fast and stable OS. Or if you're daring, .167 seems ever so slightly faster, about as stable, but I get a few graphical glitches periodically.

Just wait. iPhone is coming to Verizon. They are in negotiations now and Apple wanted Verizon the first time around, but Verizon did not want to give technical support over to Apple because Verizon pays their TS teams too much money to hand over full TS to Apple. So hopefully soon Verizon will get the iphone. Which means toy turns into functionality.

Why would Verizon opt out of turning over Tech Support to someone else? If they did that , they wouldn't have to pay anyone for the tech support, thus saving them tons of money.
For their bottom line, it would make more sense to let Apple have it.
Verzion told Apple they didn't want the Iphone because Apple had so many requirements that benefited them, not Verizon.

My big problem with the IPhone is its to trendy. Was in the meeting the other day and "everyone" no exauguration had their Iphones on the table. And I was the true leader with my BB Tour holding down the fort. "That's game blouses"

I use storm. cannot compare to iphone. the only reason i use storm is the bbm (blackberry free chatting service).
- the update of the firmware Always not stable, you get better here, then another problem appear
- battery life...lousy (need to bring my charger on my car & charge couple of times at the office)
- don't compare the touch screen with iphone..simply no comparable.
- application ? nothing. boring, compare to app store from apple.
- game? stone ages
- RIM never release a good solid product. they release new product, but no wifi or no camera, or camera quality is bad, or lack of memory. Why can't RIM just release one solid product. it is annoying for me.

well, then you have to decide your self which one is better for you

Wow that just about says it all .Wish i would've never got this phone but i love it at the same time .
Phone its self is awsome prob is the shoty OS's they have for it and RIM is well known for this ,Releasing crap.

Final thought for 49.00 bucks its worth it .Then you can get a storm 2 and use the storm for a paper weight.
