Question Application management / whitelisting

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding OTA applications / standard software configurations.

Here's my scenario:

I want to start pushing apps OTA, I have been successful in doing so and would like to offer this as a service for users who have business specific apps. We currently block the downloading of 3rd party applications so we have a rather consistent software configuration (applications wise) which helps with supporting over 1000+ devices. I am concerned that a user can go home and download the desktop software and install a application that isn't approved by our IT department.

Is there anyway to create a checklist or whitelist specific applications and disallow anything that is not on the white list (whether its pushed OTA or installed by the desktop software?)

I need to test the DM installed at home side but if you have the IT policy set to disallow the only software that you can install is via your software configs and what software config policy you have assigned. I currently use Allowed / Disallowed with the difference being the injection role.

This is what makes Web Desktop manager nice as you can create all the Allowed software and make delivery wireline only.

That wouldn't be possible. If you're blocking Third-Party applications with an IT Policy, then the user will not be able to install anything on their own, even using Desktop Manager.

If anyone has a chance to test this that would be great!
