Text Messages taking too long?

Lately ive noticed that my text messages on my 7100i sometimes take up to 8 or 9 hours to come in. This has caused me some trouble with some of my customers at work and im starting to get pissed off.. Any other cell phone i had from Nextel i always got my text's almost instantly but with this phone i have to wait all day for a response. Are there any settings I need to be aware of or is it possible the phone is screwing up on me? TIA
