Default Help with a issue

Please Login to Remove!

I do aplogize if I did not post in the right section. I have a small issue and I know this is the best site to get help from.

I have a blackberry 8830 world edition phone from sprint I love this phone.

I have recently upgraded to a blackberry storm 9530 from verizion. The storm is unlocked and usable. My question is how do I get the phone to regonize my sprint cell number instead of the number thats on the phone??

You can't. Sprint does not activate non-Sprint devices on their network.

Moved to a more appropriate section.

Since Sprint is CDMA, you would need to activate the phone on the Sprint network, however, Sprint will not activate a non-Sprint phone (i.e. a Verizon device) on their network.

Unlock does nothing for CDMA. You could activate on a GSM network, either AT&T or T-Mobile.

Huh? But both phones are unlocked so that shouldn't be an issue right?

No no penquin I am sorr yI should have been more clear. When you changed your phone number you have to enter into the programming deal and manually change the numbero nthe phone so the phone will work with it. I had to do it whenI did it with my 8830.

That should be done automatically when the phone is provisioned by the carrier. And Sprint won't do that with the 9530.
