There is no such thing as "EDGE minutes" and UMA is a service that tmobile has which alows to make calls over your router/internet/VoIP. If you have the add-on plan with Tmo (and a compatible phone), then you get unlimted UMA calls, otherwise you can still use UMA but the minutes are deducted from you monthly plan.
