I have dust beneath the screen of my Verizon 8330. Is it possible to remove it or am I stuck 'til it's time to replace?

Youll find a lot of youtube videos on how to do this. Ive done it using a credit card they show you how to just pry up the screen LCD, as its just held down by a thick paste gum kind of thing.

But i should also let you know. Its so easy for dust to get into a 8000 series handset. Its a pretty open design and cheaply made body. If you open the battery compartment and blow dust away there etc. Itll come straight onto your screen. In other words the screen isnt insulated or shielded or anything. Its juts behind the batter and the epaker etc everything has cavities that just lean straight to where the screen is.

Well, thanks both of you. I did look at the videos on youtube and although it looks fairly easy, it scares me to death just the same!!

Thanks for the tip about just doing the lens. I didn't even realize it could be done from the front. That appears not to clean the lens, but to replace it, which I was considering due to minor scratches. I'm assuming the adhesive backing wouldn't work well afterwards if pried up from the front then the screen cleaned in some manner.

To find the videos that just discuss the lens, the search is "8320 lens replacement" or some variation. Searching for "screen replacement" brings up the videos telling how to take the phone apart to get to the lcd screen. That's how to get into it to just clean the dust though.
