Default Media Card Locked By Employer.

Please Login to Remove!

Hi I have a 8110 pearl.

It has been issued by my work and loads of features have been locked.
Is there any software or ways of unlocking the media card and bluetooth?

Thanks

Dave

Not if you want to keep your job.

There is no way to hack a BlackBerry and undo the security that your employer has put onto the corporate owned device that was issued to you by your company. Their BlackBerry. Their policies.

They own it. They pay for it. They can lock it down as they desire. One of the good/bad features of the BB in the business world.

What? Formatting the card will not allow the OP to use it if it has been restricted by IT Policy.

And this overrides a BES policy how? Oh wait it does not. It just deletes your card.

This probably sounds silly, but have you asked about it? sometimes people can be surprisingly reasonable

With docs to go on 4.5 OS it is going to be interesting what we are going to do concerning our corporate policy.

There are too many issues with data on the cards now especially with docs to go. It can open up a can of worms. Corporations have standards that are not only internal but are external as well.

There is a way to inforce encryption on these cards and I think we are going to be visiting this process again soon...

Agree. Especially with the sizes of the cards these days (and in the future). These cards can now hold significant amounts of data. Its sometimes a fine line between a capability and a risk.

As for the policy restrictions, I would not mess with anything. Is it worth the risk?
