Default Keypad Backlighting Problem - .61

Please Login to Remove!

I installed the .61 OS and immediately noticed that the back-lighting on the keypad is erratic. At times when I am texting, it will turn off about 30 seconds or so after I start texting. At times, it will not come on until 20 seconds or so after I start texting. Anyone else notice this and is there a fix?

Don't remember that problem with the original VZW release OS.

Glad you posted. I noticed this issue as well. I do most of my texting during business/daylight hours so it took a while to notice the issue. I thought it was just me but the duration does vary. I assumed that while actively texting the phone should 'sense' the activity and stay lit. This does not seem to be the case. Not any help to you I know, but thought i would let you know its not your imagination.

I agree, when you are actively typing the keyboard should stay lit. Mine goes off all the time.

I haven't been happy with the backlight on the Tour since I got it.

I use a hard case by Seidio. I took a small piece of platsic garbage bag and put it over the LED/sensor inside the case, you dont see the plastic under the case. Now my keyboard comes on and stays on!! I can still see the LED through the plastic. The Seidio clip case helps allot with battery since it goies to sleep as soon as I put it in the case.
