Angry Alarm Clock

Anyone else? The alram clock does not work all the time, change the setting and it claims it "saves" it but just will not alarm at the set time. Seems to work periodically??

Any ideas??
Thanks in advance.

Any changes lately? New OS? Also what happens or possibly improves if you do an infamous battery pull?

I haven't seen people post problems with the alarm, but you might check out the prgram called BBSmart Alarms Pro. It has a lot of options and you can set different alarms for different days of the week, etc. Works great. There is a thread about it in the Aftermarket Software section here.

are you sure it isn't set to something like weekdays only, or one of the other odd settings? this is weird, because i can count on mine working, and i have just did an OS upgrade and still no issues.

I've run into the same thing. Alarm is set for weekdays only and the alarm will sound some weekday mornings but not others. As a matter of fact, it failed to go off this morning but worked fine Monday and Tuesday. No clue why yet. It does the same thing even if it isn't set for weekdays only.

I've been using the Alarm feature for months now (weekdays only). Only on about 2-3 occasions it never sounded, I did a battery pull and it worked fine after that (keep in mind I go weeks/month without a battery pull I guess it has to be done every once and a while). I've been usinig the Alarm feature with OS 4.2.2, 4.3 and 4.5 never experienced any problems with 4.3 and 4.5, only had that with 4.2.2 (on my 8830).

After a battery pull you should be fine.

I just moved to the States from Canada and got a new Berry from Verizon and three times in a month my alarm has not gone off. Everything was set properly, the sound was on. The first time I assumed I'd screwed something up though couldn't figure out what it was, the second time I was assured if I removed the battery and reset the Berry it wouldn't happen again (advice I got on another forum), and this morning it happened again. I woke up in horror two hours later than I was supposed to, but I set it to go off five minutes later and it did not go off. An hour later, I set it it to go off again, and it did.

I never once had this problem with my Berry in Canada and I wonder -- could it be the service provider? Or is it a problem with the Berry itself?

HELP!

Did a battery pull and some other problems resolved but the alarm still tends to not work sometimes. It's not a service provider issue, but OS, mine is on 4.3.0.124, anyone know if a newer OS works better?

No all the optional settings are fine. What OS upgrade did you do?

I have a similar problem at the moment. The alarm does not sound between 06:00 and 08:00. Today I set another alarm clock till just before the BB was suposed to go off. Alarm started by flashing on the screen. No sound. Then I went into options where you can choose and preview alarm tones, no sound then either.

If I wait till later on, there is sound. Both in preview and if I set a later alarm.

Barrery pull is done, and I upgraded to 4.5 a few weeks ago. The alarm did work after that.

This is probably the weirdest BB problem I have ever come across.

could there be something set in the profiles that is causing this? I use the alarm quite a bit traveling and always considered the BB my failsafe. I can't imagine what it could be if it rings somedays, then not others.....
