What mms issue? The 8130 doesn't support mms. You must email your photos from an email account on the device.

i understand that, but there was supposed to be an update that was going to come out that would allow MMS like every other sprint phone. I was wondering if that update ever came out

I haven't heard anything about an update. Where did you hear that?

IF that was true it would most likely only be a service book pushed to you by Sprint. You would not need to "update" your software. I really don't see Sprint making the sudden decision to allow MMS, but I bet a lot of Sprint users hope they do. I have T-Mobile and MMS but would much rather use email.

I'd rather use MMS. It really depends on the situation, do you want your friends to get the picture immediately, on their phone, wherever they are. or can t wait 'til they are at home at their computers

Hopefully they enable it soon. I'm sick of the email thing.

MMS at least on T-Mobile with the BlackBerry is very unreliable. You can still use email to send an "MMS" to a phone. For example to email a picture to a Verizon phone it is [email address], to T-Mobile it is [email address]

I suppose that's a work around. It's not a easy as SMS. I'd have to figure out who all my friend's carrier's are and sit down and type all that shiz into my phone, assuming all carriers have that special pic address, cause I know the regular SMS addressw on't work.

In summary - MMS/email option is better than email only

My opinion based on just watching the market is that MMS is going to slowly disappear as more and more devices use email. The US version of the SideKick has not had MMS, and neither does the iPhone.

For me, the MMS issue is an important one too. Alltel doesn't currently support MMS on the 8130 but they are allegedly working with RIM on a fix that will enable it.

To the people who say "just send an email:" sometimes I want to send a picture to a PHONE. And with Alltel (I don't about others), pictures or sounds attached to messages sent via the [email address] address are stripped by the server. So, sending a pic to a phone is NOT an option.

I have an application that I use on my mogul that sprint carries. It only allows you to send pictures email only, but with this application I can send them to another phone, but I cant fiqure out how to download it to my pearl to see if it will work.

I know that program as well because I haev it on my Mogul. That program is only for a Windows Mobile Device and will not work on any other one. I was wondering if anyone had created a similar program that would allow a non-MMS phone like the Mogul to send picture mail. No go so far.
