Hey guys I need help. I posted this over at crackberry the other day, but none of them have had any insight. I love the hell out of this thing and really need it to be working 100% again.

I have a curve 8310 that has been working fine since I aquired it used about 2 months ago. Last week I broke my holster and was forced to keep it in my pocket for about 5 days until I fixed the holster.

My issue is that my track ball cursor will freeze for a bit then come back to life only to freeze again. I have searched and searched for another case of this but all I can find a folks who can move in some directions but not all or who's cursor moves but can't click.

My track ball will click no matter if its frozen or not. Battery pulls do jack squat. I have taken it out, blown it out w/ compressed air, cleaned the rollers and contacts w/ alcohol and swapped trackballs with my 8820. I'm actually using my 8820 now with the curves tb and its fine. The curve however still has the same problem.

The only thing I haven't done is reload or upgrade os because my data cable is fragged and tmo wants $15 for a new one. (I went out and got a new cable today, reloaded os and still the same problem.)

Any advice would be much appreciated. I really love the curve with the smallness and camera, but can make do with my 8820(my previous fav) for now.

hmm.. kinda funny.. possible that your 8320 button got screwed too?

Doubtful, my other device (8820) works like a charm with both trackballs, while my beloved 8310 works like crap with either one.
