Default Help With Verizon Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I was previously a TMO customer living in Abilene TX. I relocated to a town in Ohio that could not receive a TMO signal, so I had to rely on Verizon Wireless for service at my new location. This meant that I had to purchase a new BB that would operate on CDMA. I purchased a 7250 and signed a 2 year contract with 450 min and BB Internet Service for $79.95 plus taxes etc. My problem is that every bill that I have received from Verizon has been between $120 to $130 since I began service in November 2006 to present. I have tried everything possible to resolve the problem with Verizon and have heard the same story time and again that everything will be resolved on the next bill and it just keeps getting worse. I have never gone over my 450 minutes, but still get charged with items that even the Verizon C/S reps spent an hour and a half studying and could not figure out.

On my last visit to the Verizon store I explained that if they cannot straighten out my bill and reimburse me for their overcharges, they could cancel my service. Right in the Verizon store in front of several customers a C/S rep told me point blank to go ahead and cancel and they will then charge me their early termination fee. Right now I'm at wits end as Verizon continues to rob me on a monthly basis. I signed a 2 year contract for a $79.95 plan and as far as I am concerned Verizon is the one breaking the contract by not charging me for what I signed up for. The only option that I see right now is to contact my State's Attorney General's Office. Has anyone here experienced a similar problem, and what did you do to resolve it?

I have not experienced that problem, but I do wonder, if you know, what exactly are the overcharges related to? Have they told you, or can you look at the bill and determine where the extra is coming from?

To start with, I have been double billed for BB internet. I've been charged pro-rated charges two months in a row, and have been hit with late charges that are not late. When I get things straightened out with C/S by phone, they tell me to pay the corrected amount, then when I receive the next bill it contradicts what C/S said to pay. Then by the time i do get my next bill I am also charged a late charge for not paying the correct amount. I have stopped at the Verizon store and my bills are so messed up the store reps can't make heads or tales of anything.

if its that bad go to small claims court and sue for the difference - that'll get their attention!

I too had this issue with Verizon. I was over-charged month after month, and was always told that it would be "taken care of" I never went over my usage or minutes. Reps would tell me one thing one day, another thing another day. After months of being charged double and triple what I agreed to, I cancelled my contract and got charged the early termination fee.

I absolutely refuse to pay the early termination fee, as it was their inability to maintain their part of the contract that forced me to cancel. They sent me to collections, and I'm disputing the debt. I believe that you'd be in your rights to do so as well, but you'd of course need to check first. You can do some research on the internet, there are lots of websites that are dedictated to the horrid customer service that Verizon has, some have instructions on how to deal with this (try verizonpathetic.com, that's where I found the most useful info). Unfortunately, it seems to be a fairly common problem. I will never, EVER use Verizon again.

Good luck to you, when dealing with Verizon...you'll need it

Thanks for the information. As far as I am concerned Verizon has broken their own contract. I signed a contract for a $79.95 plan and I also have never went over my usage, but my lowest bill was $104.00 with my highest being $233.00 and not one rep has been able to explain to me what the reason is. In my opinion they are no different than a thief demanding money. I have already filed my complaint with the State Attorney General's office and am canceling my service.

wow,

If you figure approx 20% for taxes and fees your bill should be about 95-96 dollars.

I've never had a bill that low since I began service with them in November 06.
