I had the same issue after upgrading DM to 4.6. The solution that I found was to delete the "Saved Messages" off of my Pearl. No more crashing durring sync.

Hope this helps!

Default Desktop Manager Crashes

I purchased my 8830 in August. I love the device, but have had constant crashes with it. When it does crash, it will not sync again until I have worked with BB tech support to assist with getting it back up and running.

Unfortunately it will crash again in one to two weeks. It always crashes with calendar.

A number of times, when speaking to VZ and BB techs I have asked if it could possibly be the device itself. All say that it is not possible, with the exception of last night. When working again with the support guy at BB, he did indicate that they have a known problem with 8830's and 8330's that has been ongoing for about 6 months. This was given to me unsolicited.

I spoke to VZ today about this and they indicated (of course) that it could not possibly be the device and there were no known problems reported. She got on the phone with BB while I was on hold and that guy told her that he didn't know why the tech last night would have told me that as there are no known problems.

Needless to say I came away from that call very disillusioned and totally dissatisfied. She seemed to be sympathetic, but totally no help.

I'll keep working on this with them, but am not satisfied that it is not a hardware issue. They can't find a solid, long term fix.

Same issue here - syncing with Bold from Vista with Desktop Manger 4.7.0.32

When it gets to the calendar it runs for a while and then just crashes. Not polite!

I installed OS 4.5 on my AT&T 8100, no problems other than a little glitchiness when I synched with Desktop 4.2.2. So I downloaded and installed Desktop 4.6. Couldn't complete a single sync with Outlook 2003, it always hung up on "calendar record 987 out of 1874". I know, something about not having attachments on calendar entries. I did a search through Outlook, filtered the results so only entries with attachments would be displayed, and there were no such entries.

I searched this forum, Crackberry, the internet at large...all I found were users in the same boat I was, and no solutions. I spent hours with a Blackberry tech and we were able to complete one sync, but not two syncs in a row. Yesterday I removed Blackberry Desktop from my PC (Macbook running Windows XP via Parallels) then reinstalled Desktop 4.2.2. It runs fine.

Oh by the way, did I mention how SLOW desktop 4.6 was? The one complete sync I completed took at least 10 minutes for a very small amount of data.
