So after trying every single recommendation in the forums over the past few months, my phone was still slow as a dog!

So I tried to do everything I could and couldn't figure it out. Finally I removed my picture background back to the default picture, and my phone has been running as good as new for the past 3 days! I have hundreds of pictures on my 4GB card so I guess it must have been searching for that background image regularly.

Haven't had to reboot it daily, or almost crush it to pieces because it was going too slow.

So if anyone is experiencing a slow 8130, try to REMOVE YOUR CUSTOM BACKGROUND PICTURE! If that works, plan to save your picture to your phone memory and don't choose a picture from your external memory card.

It worked for me, and now i'm happy to keep using this phone for the long haul.

I reduced all my personal photos to the same pixel size as the photos that the BB takes. This reduced the file size so that they don't take up unnecessary memory.

Windoze is the same way, if you have a large file for your wallpaper and many fonts etc... then you will use up the RAM that your programs need.

I found that my phone gets slow when you have certain programs running that constatntly need processing power. For example, Google Latitude was constantly updating my whereabouts, I could hardly hit a button with that running.
