Default Too Much Vibration

Please Login to Remove!

Here's my problem: I have my profile set to Vibrate and number of vibrations set to 1. When I get a call, the phone vibrates over and over until the call goes to voicemail. Isn't there a way to vibrate once and then stop? I though that was what the "number of vibrations" was for.

Welcome to the forum.

There are many profiles available. Is your Normal profile set for 1 vibration and does the problem occur when you have selected the Normal profile?

Actually, my profile is set to Vibrate and number of vibrations set to 1. I generally don't use the normal profile.

This what i found in the manual:
My device is vibrating more times than expected
For calls, the number of times that the BlackBerry® device vibrates is not determined by the number of vibrations that you set in your
notification profile. The device vibrates until the caller or the wireless network ends the connection.

I guess, then, my only option would be to reduce the length of time before the device goes to voicemail. Not exactly sure what it is set to but it gets about 5 rings in, which is a little long anyway. Anyone know how to get a Verizon phone to go to VM quicker?

Zodypop, welcome to the BBForums.

We have an FAQ here with piles of answers to many, many questions: Increase amount of rings before voicemail - BlackBerryFAQ

Of using that FAQ, you will want to "decrease" the time.

Thanks for the help guys! I went ahead and called Verizon and they gave me the option of the following settings: 15 seconds (approx 3 rings) 20 seconds (4), 25 (5), 30 (6). I had them set mine to 20 seconds because 30 is just way too much.

I was told that Verizon does not have a method for making this change other than directly calling in and requesting the change.

If you only want it to vibrate once, why not just turn vibration off completely
