I've only had my Pearl for about 1 week now however whenever I received text messages only the number, always reading +44 (I'm in the UK), appears in my inbox instead of the name of the person who has sent me the message.

I upgraded to a Pearl and just transfered my sim from my old phone with the numbers stored on it, do I need to do anything as I assumed that the handset would recognise the names and numbers and thus display the name when a message was received.

What makes it weird is that I have no problems when someone calls me - the phone recognises and displays the name no problem - its only when I receive a text message the the number instead of the name is displayed.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.

Press the green talk button, then menu/options/smart dialing. Make sure that your country code is set for +44.
