Default Do Main Keys Light Up???

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am getting very close to my upgrade date and I am conisdering the Torch at the top of my list. I played around with one at AT&T today and I liked it, but I am concerned about one thing. Hopefully you can shed some light on this.

On my 9700, the four large buttons right below the screen (green "accept call", BlackBerry, Back, and Red "end call") are backlit. This is incredibly helpful, as I use these keys to "wake up" my phone in dark cars etc.

On the BB 9800 I was messing around with, it seems like these same four keys are NOT backlit. I got into the settings menu, but couldn't find any settings related to this.

Can any current 9800 user please let me know if in fact these keys do light up in dark environments?

Thanks in advance.

I can confirm that they do Also, the keyboard lights up automatically when you slide the screen up.

They sure do. Maybe the device you played around with has been too tortured.

Thank you. I am thrilled to hear this. I assumed that potentially the demo unit had been beaten up enough that this could have happened.

Now I have to decide whether I want a Torch, which I know will work for everything I need, or an HTC Aria, which is just so damned cute and runs Android. I lean towards the Torch, but that HTC is seductive.
