I'm seeing the error,

"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable"

The Mr1 and Mr2 packs installed without a hitch..Mr3 is throwing this up now..

Is that on Win2003? If so, look at the "Known issues" section in the MR3 release notes.

Make you have access to the original installation files. SP and MR references the original installation files/path.

I always keep the original installation files on the server and never delete or move it.

If you deleted the original install files just put them back in the same location.

Just in case you never moved those files .. and you get the error ? is it possible that RIM package is corrupted ?

fixed my issue. i had deleted the "Installer" folder from the original install in the log files. recreate the folder called "Installer" in the same location as your beslogs and then i was able to run the installer.
