Default OS 4.2 and the 8703e (CDMA)...

Please Login to Remove!

I just read in another thread about a potential new OS for the Curve (a phone that just came out??), upgrades to the 4.2 OS for other models, but they can't produce a version of this OS for this phone... how difficult can this possibly be? Or is it that RIM simply isn't interested in the CDMA versions/users, and this really isn't a concern (can't see how this would be...)? It would be good to know if that's the case... maybe a RIM rep on the forum can shed some light.

There are "RIM reps" on the forum from viewing IP's but I don't think they like to be known as such.

One of the CDMA carriers needs to release the 4.2 for CDMA. I'm guessing RIM has released it to them, just that the carriers haven't released it to us.

Exactly John. I know from other carrier insiders that they have had the 4.2 release for almost 2 weeks now. Verizon is especially obsessed with "testing to death" any OS releases.

Like any discerning 8703er, I am itching to test out 4.2.. It's long overdue and quite frankly, my patience is hanging by a thread. C'mon Telus, Verizon, Sprint, Bell....RIM, please upload that file soooooooon!

On the question of "RIM reps", John, I don't think you should be spying on their IPs. I'm quite sure they would like to remain incognito, as you opined. Needless to say, it'd be great if we get a rep here who wouldn't mind shedding some light on 4.2 for CDMA. C'mon fellas, talk to us. What's with the delay? It's super-annoying, really!

It's more likely that it's just not released yet. What features are you looking for that aren't in 4.1?
