Default calendar/contact syncing

Is there a program for Blackberry's that is similar to how Palm pilots used to work? Program meaning... calendar & contact book that you can edit on your computer then sync it back to your phone?

A VERY frequently asked question. Very. There is no Palm Desktop equivalent. Many people use Outlook, which allows you to sync your contacts, calendar, notes and tasks.

I remember asking this back in 2006... when I got my Blackberry Pearl ... first blackberry ever. I have Windows Mail since I have Vista. Can I do the same thing with that as Outlook since that sort of replaced Outlook?

Windows Mail replaced Outlook Express, not Outlook which is still going strong. Windows Mail is just an e-mail client (and a very ordinary one at that), no calendar or contacts -- the contacts Windows Mail uses are "Windows Contacts". Certainly you can read your Windows Mail e-mails on the BB, through BIS not through any sort of synchronisation. But that's all.
