The lowest the indicator will go down to is 2 out 10. The color is orange. And before it goes any lower, the device will shutdown. I have to plug in the charger to get it turn on again.

How do I calibrate the battery indicator?

You shouldn't run it any lower than that as it could damage the battery itself. It is best to keep it topped off when at your desk or in the car.

I don't know of any way or any app to "calibrate" the meter.

That's certainly a strong school of thought, Cheerful, and the main reason is to keep the meter in calibration. It's a suggestion promulgated by Battery University for example, and they seem to know their stuff. But if I read your e-mails correctly it does not seem to be working for you. That I can't explain.

Don't discharge the battery fully of course, just run until the device shuts down. This won't hurt the battery, at device shutdown there is still a lot of charge left. To do damage, I'm told you would have to get it to shutdown point then leave the device without charging for a week or more.

my battery indicator never reaches red and I never gets the blinking LED for low battery.

The battery does last 2 days w/o charge.

Is it a matter of battery or device that this indicator is quite off?

Everything I have ever read says that battery indicators on most cell phones are pretty inaccurate by nature. Mine has slowly lost some of its ability to hold a charge but I can still usually get a few days out of it depending on my usage.

These are lithium batteries. Not the old Ni-cads. You do not need to run them down. It is actually better to keep it topped off and never let it get below 20-25% and can do more harm than good going below that level frequently.

I don't know who or what is Battery University. Never heard of them and if they are saying the Li batteries need to be run down to keep calibrated, then they are wrong.

Hi! I have a Blackberry 9700 and I have a biig big problem: when my phone battery reaches 30%, dies suddenly. So, my phone dies only when the battery indicator shows 30%.
I've to tell you that i've changed the battery that came with the phone. I use the new battery by one week, but, surprise, the problem persists! Shut down when the battery is arrive at 30%.

So, help me please: it's about a software issue? could be solved in any way?

Yes, and we'd hope so after the Sony battery disaster with Dell a few years ago. Protection circuitry has advanced, Li ion are more robust and immune to abuse.
