Default limitation with Blackberry Media Manager?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I have done alot of searching on the forum, and I don't have an answer to my problem. It appears to me that there is a limitation regarding the number of songs or artists or albums with Blackberry Media Manager.

I would prefer to use the Blackberry Media Manager, as I am also running Wayfinder and want to interrupt music with directions and calls properly. If someone has a good suggestion for a third party music player that will support mp3 and m4a files, let me know, BTW.

I have tried the following:
- PearlTunes sync
- iTunes copy and paste to Windows file manager (copied as flat files into the Blackberry / music directory)
- Windows Media Manager (copied into subfolders)

I am trying to sync ~1500 songs, BTW (they are sampled at 64-96K depending, which is how I fit them into a 4GB card). All the files are not DRM protected (they are ripped from my CDs). Any ideas?

Only PearlTunes works, but it is REALLY slow, and I regularly switch SIM cards, and I am concerned it won't work if I swap out the battery and SIM cards (I haven't tried that.

BTW, this is with a Blackberry Curve 8310 and a SanDisk 4GB microSDHC card.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Albert

Default have some insight...

apparently, non-alphanumeric characters can cause Blackberry Media Manager some pain. I know for certain that "/" causes problems. I am still researching other characters that cause the Media Manager to stop looking for music.

Stay tuned. I'll also post up my experiences with integrating iTunes and Windows Media Player with the SD card. I think the best approach is to use both, as iTunes makes it easier to organize your music, but WMP handles the media card far better.
