Default very very weired --- why battery acting like this???

Please Login to Remove!

My original battery works fine, both the STATUS(under option menu) and SMARTBEBATTERY shows correct metering when use

weired thing happened after i changed to use my brand new SEIDIO 2700mah extened battery.

first: I changed on last friday over the night, with heavy usage on Saturday whole day, before i sleep it shows 44% left, on Sunday morning it shows 43% left and the whole sunday i keep it on, used normally with 1 hours phone call,BT on, 3G on in the evening it still shows 43% left!!! ---- so i quick pull the phone, when its on, it shows 47% left!!!, then, it act normally, when its step down until Monday night to 5%, left, i charged it over night on Monday night.

Second: after changed on Monday night, with heavy usage on Tuesday and today(MSN, WIFI, 3G,BT on all the time, with normal phone calls), this afternoon, it left 36%, so i open all the apps, maps, games, and it down step by step to 8%, and i quick pull it again---when its on, it shows 37% left!!!

so i run it with lots of apps again, and it step by step run down to 9%, with quick pull, and this time seems fine---then i decided to take the battery out and after 1 minutes put it back in, this time it shows 21% left!!!!

every strange because both both the STATUS and SMARTBEBATTERY shows the same numbers i mentioned above.

this is a new 2700mah extened battery and i only charged 3 times before(fully charged each time) using the original wall charger.

Could anyone explain to me why it is acting like this? what shall I do?
my phone is 9700 with OS5.0 423, never upgrade or changed OS before. could any apps affect this behaviour?

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Maybe your app doesn't "know" about the extended battery? Have you researched that or contacted the developer? Only a guess at this point however.

the thing is, the phone itself's own battery meter also indicated the same percentage number as the app's battery meter(SMARTBEBATTERY)

Maybe you need once to run it to completely flat so the phone shuts down (or at least turns the radio off) and then fully charge it, to "reset" whatever meter is used to determine battery level.

Its bad to run a Li-on battery dead or close to dead

i run it down about 5% percent --- near shutdown level, but still have radio frequency.
I emailed SEIDIO tech support, see whats their response.

From what I have read and heard, it isn't good to go below 255 on a regular basis. It is actually a good thing to keep it plugged in and topped off.

Sounds like your best bet. Please post the gist of their response as it would be interesting to hear.

Of course it is. But the procedure is recommended at intervals:
Quote:
Batteries with fuel gauge (laptops) should be calibrated by applying a deliberate full discharge once every 30 charges. Running the pack down in the equipment does this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate and in some cases cut off the device prematurely.
(from Battery University on maximising Li-ion longevity)

If you completely 100% discharge it, it may not come back on again at all.

I would not do that. I REALLY REALLY wouldnt do that

i called them today, they suggested that may be a fault battery, so i will send this one out and they will then post me a replacement battery.

The only problem is: im based on UK, so..... i think will take long time for me to get a replacement battery
