I recently restored my BB 8700 from an earlier date (I had somehow deleted half my address book by mistake). After I restored it, there was no longer a Memo application. How can I get that back?

Did you reload the entire OS? If so, just plug it back in and run Application Loader in Desktop Manager and check the box for Memo Pad.
