Default BES Bandwidth

Please Login to Remove!

I have started on my BES LAN connection port MRTG when I found in ISA logs that BES is genereting about 5GB traffic on network every day (I have only 4 devices activated...).
Is this normal?

I'm attaching MRTG graph from last few houlrs of BES traffic.

Depending on what BES you are running and what e-mail system could be considered "normal".

I see these types of numbers with a 4.0.x BES on Domino 6.5.3 but where it is connecting to a mail server that is still Domino 5.08. Known issue with Domino - BES at 6.5.x and mail server still at 5.08.

RIM told me those numbers would dropped significatly if I upgraded the domino mail server. (so I turned off read / unread marks until we could, dropped the utilization somewhat).

Exchange 5.5 + BESExpress 4.x
Everything is on default settings.

Can you say 100% that this is all BES traffic? I have not seen these such numbers, I am a Lotus shop however. If you are using Cisco products run your SHO commands to confirm the MRTG findings.

I'm using Linksys switch - that's MRTG report from Linksys SNMP on port where is connected BES. For sure this is BES, on BES mashine there is only BES with AV file scanner.
