Default Online version of BB Messenger

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys...this is a silly question but one I have to ask. Is there a online version of BB Messenger that my friends without a BB could contact me on via a PC. I haven't any other instant messaging service on my BB and its locked to adding new programmes by our admin so I can't install Google Talk etc.

I believe the BlackBerry Messenger is only for BlackBerry devices, and I don't think there is an online or downloadable program.

Am I the only one who thinks that this would be a good idea?

Nope. BBM uses the BB PIN infrastructure to deliver messages and that's not accessible to PC's. Though I bet RIM could provide a solution if they wanted to. I bet there are security concerns with providing "soft" PIN's though.

You could always convince your friends to get BB's. If they IM a lot, BBM is free and unlimited with an unlimited BB data plan...
