Default Storm 2 keeps restarting

Please Login to Remove!

This morning I woke up to my BB that keeps restarting about a quarter after the software boots. It gives me some black/white error message that goes away before I can read it. I keep reading posts about reinstalling the os but the BB keeps restarting before DM recognizes it and since it will not boot completely I cant access the files directly from Finder(or My Computer). How am I suppose to reinstall this thing?

Before you go so far as wiping and reinstalling the OS, remove the micro SD card if you are using one. If you have a SIM card, remove that as well. Wait a good minute before you replace the battery. See what happens without the SD and SIM cards. If it boots up, it would appear the problem is with one or both of the cards.

If that's not it, see

Before you go reinstalling the Apps. make sure all is ok. Add the Apps one at a time and wait a few days. It is very likely one of the Apps caused the issue.

I thought of that. And I think Opera may have caused it because it's so buggy with .607. And the worst part is is that I just put that App back on but Im going to remove it as soon as I finishing typing this. But is there a way to put my emails on my BB instead of waiting for new ones to arrive cause none of them are there anymore?

The thing to do is make a backup using desktop manager (DM). Set DM to do it automatically every day.

I've had the same problem with my Storm 2 getting part way into restarting, then I get the white "Reset" screen and the process starts all over again and keeps repeating until I remove the battery. Messing with the SD card makes no difference. Verizon gave me a new phone for the same problem on 7/10/10, and today the same thing happened again. New phone tomorrow, I'm assuming, though now I don't trust my Storm 2 to be reliable. We need an answer from BlackBerry. I've read about this issue on other forums and no one seems to have an answer.

After I reinstalled the OS everything has been great and I never had the problem again. Why don't you try that.

The problem with suggestions to reload the OS and et cetera is that phone never starts up so that you can do anything with it, or come close to sync'ing it. The phone keeps constantly rebooting before getting anywhere near being able to do anything with it. Wouldn't call the phone dead, really, just constantly having seizures and nothing will stop it short of removing the battery.

You don't need it to be on to reload the OS. Install Desktop Manager on a PC and the actual OS from your carriers site, take out the battery, plug your BB in the computer, and use App Loader program in the c drive in RIM folder.
