Default 4.6 for existing BB's

Think the 8800's and 8300's will get 4.6?

They can't even get 4.5 out the door in a year, does that mean 4.6 will be a 2010 "upgrade"?

Hmmm. I honestly don't know, although some of the specs give me the impression that our devices won't be supported. As much as my Curve is an update to my 7290, it seems the Bold and its like are light years ahead (concerning hardware). But don't take what I'm saying to heart. I'm seriously hoping that I am wrong.

It's WAY too soon to be speculating on that!

JC: Oh, I know it's speculation. Like I said, I really hope I'm wrong. It just amazes me how far BlackBerry has come. I cannot wait to see what the next two years will bring.

Hmmm....I haven't notice a problem with that on my Curve, John. Is that only a Pearl problem or is it a .42 problem? Maybe it is that I don't get too many VoiceMails....let me call myself and try!! lol...I have a missed called icon and a message icon....is the VoiceMail icon different from the regular message icon??

It's only an issue with these latest releases of 4.5 and ONLY on TMobile. It works fine on all other carriers.

T-Mo...that figures!! Just joking! I really do like this newer OS...I just wish I could get my camera working again so I could try out the video feature....I am just waiting for the Bold to hit the market. My Curve is over a year old and I am really rough on phones. I would like to see the Thunder on AT&T, but I guess that is a pipe dream right now.

Hay, does the Bold come preloaded with the 4.5 OS or the 4.6 OS?

Okay...so 4.5 is just an update to all the older BB (i.e. Curve, Pearl, etc.)?

(Not sure this is off the threads intention) What is different about the 4.6?

Although I would love to discuss 4.6, I think it is premature since 4.5 is having issues as indicated above

Although I've seen hints at 4.6.0 and 4.6.1 for the 8000 series, I've seen more evidence towards the movement to 5.0.0 instead. If I had to place bets, I'd say we'd have OS 5.0.0 before the end of Q1 '09 for these devices (and OS 4.5.0 until then).
