Since the device is not out yet, everything is still a rumor.

The chrome won't bother me, because I always have mine in a gelcase.

You know what I really don't like it that I am leaning more towards the Storm 2 this time around. The Onyx hasn't really had a lot of improvement on the looks side to warrant my rushing out and getting one. When the BOLD came out it was a big jump up in the looks and technology department with the Onyx it looks like RIM is selling themselves short a wee bit!

I really don't think that RIM is selling themselves short with the 9700/Onyx. Faster processor, increased application memory, trackpad, smaller form factor. In my opinion, that is an improvement over the Bold. In terms of looks, the 9700 is following the same styling as other BlackBerrys to be released this year (Tour, Storm 2)

Seems as if RIM is going with the rubber conveinence keys and volume keys. Thats a good thing imo.

What I am seeing with respect to the styling of the onyx it looks if though RIM gave the sign to someones 3 year old kid instead of design architect.

Have you actually ever seen one? Or is this another in a list of "I don't like what RIM is doing and they are falling behind but I haven't actually see the device yet"?

Funny that a phone which is made in Canada goes to a US carrier. Looks like an awesome phone. Looking forward to getting one.

What does the country of manufacture have to do with anything? If a carrier wants to market it, I'm sure RIM would work with them.

I thought RIM picked who got to test it. Rogers sucks. They don't want to try anything new.

The carriers are the customer. They set the requirements and do the testing. And they do the release.

Rumors would indicate that the T-Mobile version will be 3G and WiFi.
