Default Gmail push problem

Please Login to Remove!

For years my Gmail, Hotmail, yahoo and Web Outlook accounts integrated on my BB in a BIS plan have been working flawlessly. About two weeks ago my Gmail account started to show some outages: for a few hours per day no eMails are being pushed onto my BB (currently 9790 with OS 7.1), no matter if the BB is connected via WiFi, 3G or GPRS/EDGE (no matter if roaming or not), while I am still able to send eMails. All the other accounts are working. If this occurs, nothing helps (battery pull, HRT registration, deleting the Gmail account from my BIS account and setting it up again). I never changed any settings in Gmail.

Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong here? In my opinion, it does not seem to be a carrier (Vodafone Germany) problem.

I would appreciate if anyone could help.

Best regards, drmeduniv

It's a BIS problem. BlackBerry is reducing support for BIS as they fight for their life and want consumers to buy BB10 devices that don't require BIS plans.

I will never buy a BB10 device. BIS is very useful when roaming in certain countries because it acts as kind of a proxy server. Without BIS I do not need a BB...

Anyway, is there anything that can be done about the problem?

No, you've done everything other than start searching for alternative devices.

Well, so I will have to do just that. It is a shame BB renders a device useless that is just about a year old.
