So far, so good. MyFaves still gives me the uncaught exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) error and the icons all show up as refreshing. Battery pull, resending service books, and refreshing from the TMO website all fail.

Got my replacement BlackBerry yesterday and loaded this OS. I upgraded from .69 and don't notice too many differences but it seems like the Wi-Fi has a better lock.

I had several instances where (with UMA), I would answer a call, and the caller couldn't hear me (on .69). I'd love to know if anyone that experienced that on .69 can confirm if it's resolved or not in .81. .81 is a newer release, so it's probably safe to assume that it should be better overall.

For some reason my curve is running doggedly slow now that I've upgraded. Everything takes so long! It took close to 15 seconds to hide an icon this morning. Is there something I've done wrong?

Do a battery pull reboot... give it five mins after the reboot to settle down any data activity, and you'll be fine.

Surprised that the myFaves app is still causing problems - they will have to revamp that before we get the official TMO release

I experienced that problem A LOT the past few weeks. Never happened to me before that.

I've had the new release installed for the day and haven't experienced that problem yet.

I really hope so. So far white screen with hourglass... connecting to device... it's been the longest 30 minutes of my entire life!

Update: It's alive and kicking!!!!!!! Everything seems to be working like it should so far. I feel like a true savvy. Thank you guys.

Updating on my glitch last night when I got the white screen of death with an error code 200: I figured out that the second time I reinstalled the OS, I forgot to delete the vendor.xml file. So, all would have gone well if I hadn't overlooked that critical step the second time. The third time, believe me, I remembered and all went well!

Edited to add:

I have been having trouble with my wi-fi for the last few days while I was on .55. Calls would either drop or I couldn't hear anything at all. I have upgraded to .81 and seem to still be having some problems. They aren't as bad, maybe, but it's hard to tell since I haven't had a chance to use it much today. I will report back.

However, on the positive side, it seems like things are moving quite a bit faster and I am having to adjust how fast my trackball rolls. Neither upgrade interfered with my faves, although I got a couple of weird text message when I resurrected my BB indicating that they weren't going to refresh for some reason or other. But they did refresh perfectly and when I restored my data, fotos and all were exactly what they should be.

Just noticed that when searching emails, the option to search local or the server is gone (I am on a BES). It was there in .55

I upgraded last night and everything went smoothly. My Curve seems to run a little faster and it seems like I've got much stronger network connections.

Update fixed a glitch with TMobile OS where BIS wasn't working (localized issue with my Curve). Connected UMA right away, impressed by the extra 6MB available after install. So far so good.

I haven't noticed much yet, except that I've got the uncaught exception error w/MyFaves that wasn't present in .69. My only UMA call since upgrading worked well, but overall, so far, I'd have to say, nothing worth injecting another problem to get.
