Default phone ext.

When I call a company and they ask me to type in the first 3 letters of a persons last name to find their extension., is there a way to show what letters apply to a regular phone in order to access the directory.

Thanks in advance

Default same here!

I have found the same issue.... on a regular phone 2=abc, 3=def, 4=ghi etc.... but the 7100 keyboard is much different!

hold the shift key and punch the letter you want.

so if you're looking for smith...

hold down shift, then ? ?

pause

then m/9

pause

then 3 3

Sorry, it's not the best explanation, but I hope that makes sense.

So holding shift and pressing "s/?" will send a "7" tone

and shift "m/9"=6 tone

shift "i/3" = 4 tone

??? sounds bizarre, but is that what you are saying???

Thanks everyone for the help.. I am not a regular on the site but I always learn when I do log in. I used the Palm Tungston before the BB7100R and liked it although a bit bulky but love the BB. the calculator was much easier to use on the Palm.

Thanks again for your help and keep up the great work.
