Default 8700 using the 8100 simulator

you dont even need to upload/download anymore. Use the 8100 simular and desktop manager 4.2 and use the media manager to transfer files to it, then save the content store and send it back to the device.. woo

i need to find a ringtone generator that can clip my mp3s

Audacity is the one I use. It's freeware.

i dont think it can be done like that, youd have to wait for blackberry to release a new version of the simulator if they havent already.

If youv a memory card then you should be able to goto the transfere option on the desktop app and move any mp3 or such like to the card then select it as a ring tone in the media player, or does it not let you use tracks off the card as tones? This should still work as a method if needs be.

Default Help! Im Stuck!

I can get my simulated BB Browser to go to a website which supports .adp files. But when I click on "get link" all that comes up are PAGES AND PAGES AND PAGES of random characters. The media player DOES NOT open up. I go back and select .midi files and they open right up in the media player. Where did I go wrong? And can anyone help me? For the record I have the 7100t with 4.1 OS software. Thanks in advance.

Try the page on a normal computer, does it give the type of audio/adpcm, you could also try downloading a ringtone from http://huenik.com/blackberry

if the file type doesnt show up as iv said and/or you can download from my site then theres something wrong with the settings on the webserver where your trying to download from. if not then im not sure what could be up with it.

Default Thanks

I can easily go to these websites on my laptop computer and successfully download the .adp files to my HDD. But when I go to the same site on my simulated BB browser i either get LOTS OF RANDOM CHARACTERS or an Error message (from your site Huenik[dot]com[slash]blackberry). I can ONLY open up MIDI files in my simulated BB browser but NOT .adp files. Is there anyone that knows what might be wrong? I do know that when i do a simulated connection via USB to the simulated BB, it asks to update to OS 4.1 and I read earlier that 4.1 is needed to open up .adp files. However, when i click "update" it comes back with an error message saying there is not enough space on my target device (the simulated BB). Is this normal or should it be updated to OS 4.1? Thanks in advance to all those who help me.

Unhappy Unable to Connect to Mobile Data Service. . .?

I have a BB 8700 with no data service and I am trying the Device Simulator with JDE 4.2.1. My simulator comes up like a 8800 and when I try to connect with the browser to download a ringtone I get the

"Unable to Connect to Mobile Data Service. Try again later."

Any help? Any ideas? It seems like everything is working, it is just not making connection.

I have a BB 7105t with no data plan, and I've been trying to get the CTU ringtone from 24 on there forever. I've had friends try to bluetooth it to me, and I finally discovered this thread. It gave me tremendous hope, but I cannot access any web sites from the simulated device. It says "Requesting" at the bottom but never makes it any farther than that. Is there anyone who can help me out?

you need to blackberry.com and search for your BB simulator, Trust me i use to use this process all the time. So go there and download your simulator 8700 because it will ONLY WORK if your bb simulator and your acutal bb are the same model.

Default mp3 ringtones with no data plan

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. I just open an mp3 with a program called wavepad and delete the beginning of the song and the end of the song and save some in the middle that I want for my ringtone. Then I use the data cable to transfer it to my phone.

Oh I see, you guys are accessing content on the web that cannot be normally viewed on your pc, only a blackberry. I'm gonna try this to get free aces texas holdem that I can only find OTA.

Default ringtones sound funny

I can download and save ringtones to the simulator but they sound strange. Slower than normal. Any ideas what is wrong? I haven't tried to load them in my BB. Do you think they will sound OK there?
