Duplicate calendar entries on Bold 9000 when scheduler is updated

I have a Bold 9000. It's on vodafone with my googlemail account attached. When I send schedulers on outlook to my googlemail account I am able to accept on the blackberry and the calendar shows the appointment. However, when I update a scheduler with new information or a change of time and send to the bb, it does not replace the original entry on the calendar - I'm left with the new entry and the original entry.
How do I resolve this?
