Default Weird message about password sent to my BB

Please Login to Remove!

Recently, I've been getting the following message sent to my BB:

"You asked to have your password sent to your device. Your password is: xxxxxx."

except in the message sent to my device, "xxxxxx" really is my device password.

I usually get two or three of the same message in succession just a couple of minutes apart. This has happened twice now with about two months between the two incidents.

I have not, at least intentionally, requested my password be sent to my device, ever. The sender's e-mail address is:

[email address]

This is just a little creepy. Anyone know what this is about or experienced it?

Are you on a BES?

I am not sure, BES may have something to do with it, like kasperapd.

I had the same thing happen to me, but the password that was sent to me was my BIS control panel. It was an ex requesting it though. But not my device password...hmmm...

No, not on a BES. We have one here, but it's serving all of the Nextel BB's we have. I have the only Verizon BB in the organization and we haven't figured out how to get my device synced to the BES yet. That said, my BB doesn't communicate with the BES, at least not to my knowledge.

BES is carrier independent. Verizon syncs the same as Nextel.

Somebody could be going to the BIS site and accidentally typing in your pin to request the password. Generally that's the only time I've ever received an email like that, when I request it. Somebody could be reading the pin off their device incorrectly. Is your password to your Nextel account the same as your device password, or do you use that same password for multiple things?
