Default using flash as a flashlight

is there a way to use the flash as a flashlight, or a program to use to keep the light on??

On a normal digital camera, a flash takes a while, because it needs to charge a large capacitor and then release all the energy at once. Anything that uses the same system will not be able to keep the flash bulb on for any length of time. Now, whether cell phones use that system, I do not know.

they are LEDs, nothing like a camera flash. other phone manufactures have it built into the phone ex. holding the clear button, or the down arrow. just wondering if this feature was an easter egg to the blackberry as well, or if someone has a program to accomplish this.

on a pearl 8120, just enable the flash in the video recorder options and it will stay on as long as that app is open (not even recording)
