Each version of Pandora software for a portable device needs to be separately developed and approved by the cell carrier. We're currently working to bring Pandora to more devices including the Blackberry.
Not to be the negative guy, but I got the same email from them (exept for the "I don't know exactly..." paragraph) over a year ago. At that time they told me they were working with my phone manufacturer and my carrier to have a Pandora client available.
I saw my friend drop his iPhone in a stereo dock in his house, and streamed pandora in one second. I was so jealous, i almost ran out and bought an iTouch. Pandora's other home options including the logitech unit, or the bluray player are too $$$. But I would definitely pay for the ability to plug in my blackberry headphone jack, and stream wifi. But wait, my curve doesn't have wifi!!! I'll still email pandora for the benefit of the community!
