Question How to install Chinese PinYin input on 8900?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I have a 8330 with verizon myself. but here I am asking to help my friend. She has a 8900 with T-Mobile. I am trying to figure out how what i need to do in order for her to be able to input chinese using the the pinyin system.

I've downloaded a language update pack ($10) that was very easy to install -- just run the bat file and it installed everything. Unfortunately, the pinyin input did not work correctly. It appears to work, byt the drop-down selection does not match the pinyin. She has down this "all her life" on a PC, so we know her pinyin is correct, just the drop down choices do not match or make sense. The vendor could not figure out what to do.

So here I am, hoping someone has found a way to do this, and will give me some insight? (I am chinese but have lived in the U.S. for 30 years, so i myself is not familiar with the Pinyin system, and defitely not how to make it work on the new 8900 BB.)

BTW, her new BB is a new unlocked Javelin 8900 phone i bought on eBay, a month before it was available in the US. (in case this info helps.)

Thanks for any help.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

The pinyin input system were included in the East Asian language OS. Download it frm any Asia carrier and it should work.

How timely. I received an email from one of my users this morning requesting this language.

I have looked for it on a Chinese website.

I have downloaded probably 10 (or more) 4.5 8700 OS's from many different carriers that are supposed to be 'East Asian'. NONE of them include the Pinyin input language.
