Default Cassette Icon

Please Login to Remove!

My office just replaced my old blackberry with a new 8800. Phone messages seem to be signaled by a phone. So, then, what is the cassette icon? If it is a text message, how do I access it? (I am really a basic user - this is probably a very easy question, but I have been searching for over an hour now).

thanks! Cyndi

On my 8830 I have a small cassette looking icon that indicates I have voicemail messages. I also receive a text message in my Messages folders that I have a voicemail message.

Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums!

I have a icon that's a globe with a number 1 next to it (left side).
Anyone know what that is?

That is a browser push icon. You were probably browsing the web and went out of coverage. When that happens you will be asked if you want to 'save request'. If you click 'Save Request', when you get back into coverage, you will get that globe icon on the main screen and one in your Messages applicatoin that you can click on to go back to the webpage you were at.

Thank you! I remember doing that. Now then the question is, how do I get rid of it?

Go into your Messages icon, find the 'message' with the globe next to it, and delete it (or click on it if you want to go back to that webpage).

You could try calling yourself from a different phone and leaving yourself a message. Then check the message from your BlackBerry and delete it. If the cassette icon doesn't go away, try pulling the battery for 30 seconds, then reinsert. If those don't work, then you may have to wipe the device in order for it to disappear.
