Hi,
My bolds currently stuck on reload software 507, i rarely use this phone and it was working fine about a month ago, the battery was out for a while and now i put the battery back in and it loads up to this screen. when i start the desktop software it gives me the option to update then shows software to install but cant connect to the phone, the phone just restarts then gets stuck on a black screen. i also try it through apploader it detects the phone and connects to the device, gives me the option to select and install the software i want but then when i click next then finish the phone goes onto the black screen and its just stuck on connecting to boot rom, then error msg "Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]" shows up
Any help please

507 means there is no OS. You need to reload the OS.

What is the model number of the device you are asking about. the 8900 is not a Bold and there are several Bold devices, 9000, 9650, 9700, 9780 and each is different.

its the 9000 and thats the problem, i've downloaded and installed the os on my pc and been tryin to install the os on the phone now but this is the problem thats occuring

A search of these forums for "Unspecified error encountered [A:0x00000001]" turned up many possible things to try.

Here are a few, not necessarily this order or all required.

reboot pc
different USB port
re-install Blackberry Desktop Manager.

It also helps a lot if you don't use text-speak. Try editing with some punctuation and capitalization so we can really read your post.

And make sure you delete the vendor.xml file.

Are you following our instructions in the sticky at the top of the 9000 section?

I live in Ghana(africa) and i had a verizon bb 9650 just last two days. I tried to update to os 6 on a mac. everything was going smoothly except a stage where the it says "waiting for device to restart". Its stuck @ dis stage. I had patience to keep it on overnight and still woke up to see it stuck. On the bb screen is the computer and bb icon with two arrows. I removed the battery thinking it will help the phone reboot. But it still didnt work. Now when i on the phone, it loads a while and this error shows up "error 506. reload os". i decided to install the os 5 back and it also got stuck @ waiting for device to restart. Pls help. thanks.

I have tried every step i can to install the os but its still stuck on the 507 screen. I have found another person with the same error and they have fully explained the problem on that web page with images.

I havent added the http: as it wont allow me unless i do 15 posts or more.
He still hasn't been able to solve the problem, so if anyone knows a way around this it would be great help

How many times have you tried. I have seen it take 4 or 5 before it actually complete.

Are you sure that you re installing the correct OS and have deleted the Vendor.XML file and are following our directions exactly?

It could also be a bad BB.

You might try using BBSAK to see if that works better than DM. Use Google to find the latest BBSAK version (Blackberry Swiss Army Knife).

I have tried it many times but still the same problem.
I'm using the same OS i've used before on this phone and yes I have deleted the Vendor.xml, I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the OS on this phone before and it use to work fine but now is causing this problem.
Yes it could be a bad BB but i dont no how this randomly happend when it was working fine the last time I used it which was about a month ago.
I have tried using BBSAkK but its still the same problem as DM.
