I searched for this with no luck.

I currently have the BB 8703e from Sprint. I have to cancel my service with Sprint because I have no coverage in my area (long story.)

I will be receiving the 8700c from Cingular tomorrow.

Here's my question (finally)..I wiped the BB to clear all the personal data, but am still getting emails from my Comcast account.

I am not sure why this is happening.

I ported my number over to Cingular, which, I'm assuming doesn't take effect until I activate my Cingular account.

The rep at Cingular told me my ported number would take effect when I receive the phone, and that then, my account with Sprint would automatically be cancelled.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I am still receiving emails on the 8703e.

Is there another way to Wipe the BB?

How were you getting the comcast emails? Through BIS? If so, you need to from the Sprint BIS. Wiping the blackberry removes all of the email service books, but allowing the device to reconnect to the spring network will cause the service books for you BIS email to get pushed back to the device.

Once you get your new new device set up the email on the CIngular BIS and you be all set.

If you wipe the BB and reload the OS, that wouldn't stop your ability to receive emails. Maybe the process hasn't been completed yet of porting your number to Cingular. If your Sprint BIS is still active, you could try deleting all of your active email accounts and your Blackberry.net account.

Log in to the Sprint BIS site and delete any email addresses you previously configured.

That did it. I forgot about sprint.blackberry.com


I logged in and deleted my email accounts.
