We have always had Curves and the trackball has been an issue from the beginning. Did they fix that for the 8900? I sure hope so... Poster MERK350Z said he checked out the new Curve 8900 at the store and thought it felt kinda cheap. I didn't even know it existed until he brought it up so then I looked up the specifications and it's not 3G. It looks like it has a better screen than he Bold though (but still smaller just better resolution - but not by much.) I don't know how it compares to the Bold - it's new so it may be awhile until we know...
I am partial to going with the Bold because it still says it's the fastest Blackberry there is. I want the speed and a bigger screen.
Do you thinking buying a Bold is a good idea right now? I am afraid they will introduce the next generation right after I buy it. That would suck if that happened...
New trackballs are cheap as hell and take less than thirty seconds to swap out. I change mine about every nine months. It's a great upgrade and it sounds like a few users in this thread should give it a try.
I would totally swap it out - beats getting a new phone (although they pay - I have always been under warranty.) I don't know why they don't offer that as an option, but they never have. It always does the same thing... it rolls around fine - NO problem there... it just is only effective for half the screen. Mostly up and down only, not side to side. And wiping the handheld doesn't work. I have no idea if swapping it would work for this particular problem, but if it happens again I will try it.
