Default 8703e...BlackBerry Owners Lounge

Please Login to Remove!

I just recently made the switch to BlackBerry and came across this Owners Lounge on the BB page.

"In just a few short moments you will be a member of the BlackBerry® Owners Lounge and gain access to a variety of useful tools and information to optimize your BlackBerry experience. To register, simply enter your owners information in the form below. Providing your IMEI Number (what’s this?) ensures that we can provide you with the latest news, products, software updates, accessories and special offers specific to your BlackBerry device."

Problem is on my 8703e, there is no IMEI number behind the battery , and the ESN number, according to the Sign Up page, is too short.

???

Has anyone with the 8703e tried this?

Thanks.

Just make something up and you will be allowed to register.

I did that. It's not there!

Two ESN #'s though.

CDMA units do not have IMEI numbers, they have ESNs.. I think if you just add a couple 0s to your ESN it will work, or just make something up as someone already said.

Thanks for the info. I kept checking the number in my BB, just to make sure I wasn't totally losing my mind!

Even though I was able to register making up a number, it is good to know there was a reason why the number didn't work.

Thanks.

I tried to register by adding a single digit to my 11 digit number but it didn't work. This is retarded!

Finally, I used the IEMI number from an unused Rogers BB in our office. You would think that RIM webmasters would know how long a ESN number is. What a bunch of knuckleheads!!!!

Furthermore I never got a confirmation email . . . .

???? Shows that it has to start w/ 076 as he first three digits. This is fraggin nuts . Everywhere I look (other than the BB main website) talkes about an 11 digit ESN #.

I had the same problem a few minutes ago and just added 4 zeroes to the end.

It worked.

Thanks that worked . That is just nuts. Everybody on the planet understands that the ESN is 11 digits long except for BB.

With all of the technical information that we are forced to learn in this world, it makes me crazy. We have to know our computers, handhelds, etc. inside and out in order for them to work correctly.
