Cool Memory card for my Curve

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to get a memory card for my blackberry. I am with T-mobile so I guess that means my model number is the 8320 from everything I have read. Anyways, does anyone have any recommendations for what type/size of card to get? I would like to get the biggest one possible. Thanks for the tips!

Wirelessly posted (BB 8330)

Read above. I personally like Sandisk. I have never had any problems with them.

If your device supports it, you can get the new SanDisk 16 GB card for about $65 on ebay, after 10% discount coupons. Search on 16 GB micro SD.

Sandisk is definitely the way to go (in my opinion).

I can't believe how much the memory specs have changed. When I bought my Curve, it topped out at 4Gigs which is what I have. Now I could have 16Gigs, damn.

I but SD because they are easily available. I didn't know any better at the time.

always bought kingston only because it always seemed SD cards were about 5-10 dollars more expensive (USD of course ;))

i honestly think that, like most electronics products, they are all manufactured by the same company, just with different branding on them.

I just updated my desktop manager to the most version, so does that mean I can have the larger card?

I bought a 16gig card tonight (I'm operating on OS 4.5.0.81) And loaded music and pics onto the card on my pc after formatting the card on my BB, then when I put the card in my BB was PAINFULLY slow and froze a couple times. Any suggestions?

Did you fill the memory card to capacity? I know with my stand alone MP3 player, it took forever to start when there was no storage space left.

Not quite to capacity- I put about 11gigs of music on the card. But not only was it sluggish and freeze-prone, when I was able to get to "all songs" in my media player only a handful (artists beginning with the letter "M") showed up in the list. It's almost like my BB isn't reading the whole card or something.

There's also a bizarre "scanning" bar that appears often on the bottom of the screen when my media player is open. I've never seen it before, so I'm assuming it came from the most recent OS update I installed.

I'd hate to think I just wasted a hundred bucks on an SDcard.

I had the scanning bar as well. That will eventually go away. I believe it is cataloging all the new music on your BB. Before trying to get to your music, I would try a hard reset (battery pull) so you have as much memory (on the BB, not the memory card) as possible.
