If you saw the store goals as compared to last year you would think they are crazy

I would think probably 75 to 100% higher than this time last year. August will be the same I am sure.

Decision now made. I'm going with the iPhone 3G because I'm to impatient to wait for the Bold.
I know I will get beat bloody for this but I agree. I will probably move from the pearl to the iphone. Just don't want to wait that long.

They have not deleivered it to the Canadians yet!

Hope they do not get a wet blanket, too!

I would rather have the Bold right than a iPhone2 anyday.

It would be nice if ATT would go ahead and get out their 4.5 OS but not holding my breath on that either!

There are a lot of big corporations waiting for the BB Bold with big BES installations. This delay I'm sure is not a good thing for them at all.

Delay is a big deal and bad for RIM, but other companies hanging out waiting for the Bold?

I certainly would not want to do a fleet deployment of 9000s on day 1. New device, new OS, new policies to consider... and new accessories to stock up on. The C-suite will get whatever they want and get hooked up on day 1, but everyone else will definitely have to wait before they get a corporate issued Bold (if they ever do).

You can't go by that because launch numbers of iphone far exceeded the launch numbers of any blackberry unit. So since there were millions more iphones at launch than a comparable BB launch, 8x more returns could equate to the same overall percentage of dissatisfied users compared to a bb launch. And a good portion of those were returns due to technical problems because there were issues with initial launch.

I was saying eight times the percentage. On average, across all carriers in the world that offer BBs, the return rate is 2%

That doesn't stop the overall popularity of the unit though. You have to admit ... regardless of return percentage, the overall number of people keeping the unit still far exceed numbers of BB units sold at launch of both Pearl and Curve combined. And as much as we love our BlackBerries, consumer demand for iPhone 3G will be far greater than Bold.

AT&T knows this ... thats why iPhone 3G is at the forefront and will get the brunt of marketing and PR from the carrier. Its a much smarter business decision to put iPhone in the forefront, than BlackBerry Bold ... and that is what is happening right now.

I know that At&t has been using this battery life excuse for months now but is their any chance that's actually it? Is it just a cover-up for the iphone as posted above? When RIM showed At&t the bold wouldn't it already have the best achievable battery life? Besides since when does At&t care about battery life? Their 8525's battery drains from full to nothing using minimal settings in under a day.
