Default Latest OS: 9530: 4.7.0.109 / 4.7.0.76 From Bell

Software For BlackBerry® Storm(TM) smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.7.0.109 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.7.0.109
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.7.0.76
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.96
* File name: 9530AMEA_PBr4.7.0_rel109_PL4.0.0.96_A4.7.0.76_Bell _Mobility.exe
* File size: 102.85MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the software from Bell BlackBerry
Download the software from Telus https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...E607FE7CC0E1A0

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find info on previous versions of the OS: Verizon OS

Downloaded and installed the software this morning and noticed a better improvement on both camera and Horzontal/Veritical change and can't remember if the cut and paste was on the prev O/S.

I think I'm going to wait until the next official Verizon release before I update my phone again, but I'm curious what issues this addresses (assuming an update from .75).

Anyone know?

Boy Genius did a pretty complete review of the difference between .75 and .76:
BlackBerry Storm OS 4.7.0.76, other versions left dead in their tracks : Boy Genius Report

no... not the difference between 75 and 76... i'm just wanting to make sure that THIS .76 is the same as the .76 some of us were able to get a week or so ago. didn't know if they maybe tweaked it at all between then and now.

i suppose i could download and compare size. just wondering if anyone else had maybe done the same already.
