Default Anyone else have this problem?

Please Login to Remove!

I just upgraded from a Bold 9700 to a new Torch and I'm having a few problems. The calendar opens in day view, when I go into options and change it to open in month view, save and exit, it still opens in day view. I go back into options to check the setting and it is has reset back to day view. I have the same problem with my contacts when I try to switch the order from first name to last name. I figure either it's a software issue or a user issue. Am I doing something wrong?

I also can't seem to download the desktop software from Blackberry.com. It's a 100M file and the transfer rate keeps slowing down until it eventually stops. I can't even get to 4% before it stops.

Thanks

First, please update your profile to show your current BB model.

In calendar, Are you trying to set up in Agenda View? If so, do you have "show free time" set as yes?

I assume that you are downloading to your desktop? If it slows and stops, it is most like a problem with your PC or the ISP. Have you checked with the ISP?

Sorry about my profile. Actually the problem I'm having is with the initial view when the calendar is opened. I go to "options" and then to "general calendar options". Then under "views" the setting is "day". I change this setting to "month" and then save and exit. The phone then reverts right back to the previous setting (day). I just tried it again and I think I found a fix. I first changed it to "week", saved and exited. That worked. So I went back in and chaged it from "week" to "month", saved and exited and that seemed to work. The calendar now opens in month view.

I was having the same problem with the contacts. In the contact options I could not change the sort by setting from "first name" to "last name". I had to first change it to "company" and then change it to "last name". Maybe my Torch is possessed.

As for the desktop software, I think you may be right. I'm gonna try to download it on another computer with a better connection.

I think this phone is great but having never used a touch screen phone before it"s taking a little time to get used too. Thanks for the help.

I just tested it on mine and it works fine - I switched the view from Agenda, to Month then to Day and each time after exiting and going back into it I had the right view. I'm running 6.0.0.246.

What version of the OS (Options > About Device Versions) are you running?

Good luck.

I'm in the same boat .. almost. same 6.0.0.246 version.

The contacts, first/last name does not work for me. But the calendar one saves for me.

Anything new on your side

Try turning off "Show free time in agenda view" then reset your initial view in the calendar.
