Default BlackBerry Downtime

Please Login to Remove!

Our boss often gets a new BlackBerry and for whatever reason, it takes a long time for it to activate. Other staff is not a problem, but it could take three hours for him and still not work. This week we've spent time over three days to get it to work.

I'm not interested in making this go faster, but I would like to eliminate any downtime he has where he doesn't have a BB.

I'm looking for Creative Solutions ()so that he can keep his BB while we work on the new one and when it's done, we just hand him the new BB. Zero downtime.

We are on a BES server wotking with MS Exchange.

Thanks.

Unless I don't understand your question, I would advise you to take the new BB, get it setup and ready to go, load new OS, or whatever you want to do.

THEN get his old BB, do the Switch Device Wizard in DM from the old to the new, activate on the BES. This all should take two hours or less.

I have this happen now and then when users have large mail profiles - especially in our west coast office - I disable wireless PIM sync onthe BES, complete the wireless activation and restore from back up or sync calendar contacts notes and tasks via desktop then re-enable wireless PIM sync
